Herlong Lady Vikings Win 9th Straight
On a night when their leading scorers were held in check, the Herlong Lady Viking basketball team got clutch performances from a pair of freshmen in a 39-29 win over Providence. (1/20)
Herlong’s Reanna Retterath and Andrea “Peanut” Owen, were held to just 11 combined points but freshman Tina Berry stepped up to score 20 points on 10 of 20 shooting, while fellow freshman, Rachel Silva, added eight points to help guide the Herlong ladies to their ninth straight victory. Retterath finished the night with eight points. Owen was held to just three points, but pulled down 13 rebounds.
Herlong is now 2-0 and alone atop the Pioneer League standings.
