Lassen Grizzlies Earn Much Needed Victory at West Valley
The Lassen Grizzlies used a second half rally to knock off West Valley High School, Thursday, (2/12) and snap a five game losing skid.
The Grizzlies trailed West Valley by ten points at halftime but turned up the heat in the second half to blow by the home team Eagles for a 62-57 victory. Lassen’s Jeremy Bowles scored 17 of his team high 21 points in the second half to help propel the Grizzlies to their second NAL win of the year, (2-6). Brandon Whitestone had ten points in the Lassen win. ” JP Faulkner’s three three-pointers helped us gain some momentum,” said Lassen head coach Leo Bennett. “and Loren Rainey and Miles Maurino played lock-down defense and got some huge rebounds down the stretch.”
Lassen split the two early games with West Valley. The Lassen freshmen won in overtime while the junior varsity Grizzlies lost in overtime.
The Grizzlies will close out the regular season with a pair of home games. Tuesday, Feb. 17, Lassen plays host to Anderson, then Lassen will wrap up the regular season, Friday, Feb. 20th against Central Valley.
