Lady Grizzlies Outlast Corning and the Heat
Playing under nearly 100 degree temperatures at Corning High School, (4/21), the Lassen High Lady Grizzly softball team scored early and never trailed while improving to 4-1 in Northern Athletic League.
Lassen – 3
Corning – 1
“We left an army of runners on the bases but we held on for the win.” Said Lassen head coach Paul Moore. “And we survived the 97 degree heat.” All three Lassen runs came in the first inning.
Freshman Natalie Yonan was 2 x 3 with an RBI while Alex Henry was 2 x 4. The win gives Lassen a 17-9-2 overall record.
Lassen will next face arch rival West Valley High School, Friday, April 24th. The game will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Lassen College Softball Complex. Lassen was in second place, a half game behind West Valley in the NAL standings at the start of play Tuesday. West Valley defeated the Lassen ladies in an earlier conference match-up.
Note: The fun part about Friday’s game, these two teams (schools) just don’t care much for one another. At least I think that’s fun…

Lassen’s “J-No” Verbally Commits to the Academy of Art University
Lassen College Lady Cougar standout, Jessica Nolan, has verbally committed to play basketball and continue her education at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Ca.
