Lassen High Soccer Teams Earn a Win and a Tie/Win (Updated)

The Lassen High School soccer teams each played pivotal Northern Athletic League matches, Thursday, (2/04) against West Valley High School at Riverside Park.

Girls Final
Lassen – 2
West Valley – 2
Autumn Norton
and Greta Porfiri each scored goals for Lassen.
Additional Information provided by Molly West

The game today against West Valley was very intense. The girls came out with a victory and knocked West Valley out of the contention for league. As long as Lassen wins their final two games on Tuesday, (2/09) and Thursday,(2/11), the Lady Grizzlies will take the league championship.
The Score at the end of regulation was 2-2. Autumn Norton scored the first Lassen goal with Amanda Keeton assisting, with Greta Porfiri scoring the second.
Lassen was up the entire game until the last second when West Valley scored the tying goal.  The girls then went into penalty kicks and won 3-1.
Big thanks to Molly.

Boys Final
Lassen – 5
West Valley – 1
Jordan Guess
punched in four Grizzly goals, with Stephen Morris adding Lassen’s fifth score. The win keeps the young Lassen team’s playoff hopes alive, as Lassen head coach Dennis Michaels explains in his report.

It’s Finally Official, Lee Signs with Boise State University

Lassen High Schools all-everything football player, Darren Lee has officially signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Boise State University.
Lee helped lead the Grizzlies to the Division II North Section football title in 2009. The Lassen senior led the team with 141 total tackles and was also the teams leading rusher, gaining nearly 1400 yards.
Lee was named the Northern Athletic Leagues Defensive MVP and was named to the first team All-State football team as a linebacker.

In a signing day conversation on Boise’s KTIK radio, Boise State head coach, Chris Petersen, seemed genuinely enthused when he spoke of Lee’s signing.
