Lady Grizzlies Advance to CIF Finals
For the first time in 26 years, the Lassen High Lady Grizzlies earned a trip to the North Section Div. IV basketball championship game with a shorthanded win over Gridley High School, Tuesday night, (3/2).
Final Score
Lassen – 67
Gridley – 57
Carlotta Kloppenburg paced Lassen with 22 points.
Lassen lost key inside cog, Sierra Hicks to injury in the first quarter of the game, but were able to hold off Gridley for the win.
Lassen will play Central Valley, Saturday, March 6th, at Chico State. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
Raeyel Shephard scored 12 points, while Taylor Waddel added 10, to help propel the Lady Grizzlies to Saturday’s championship game.
The Lassen ladies have not advanced this far since the 1984 season.

Thanks for the great job as usual! I have enjoyed watching Carlotta play from the time she could hold a ball and she is a super athlete and a great lady! She and my Westwood granddaughter Ellen Medici have been a blast. I always wished the two of them could play together, maybe college? Also great job on the wrestling, my love of course! Byron Treece called me from state and was excited about meeting and talking with my friend Mark Schultz but didn’t tell me how things went. do you have an update? I need to get together with you and let you know about my latest surprise in being admitted into the California Community College wrestling Hall of Fame. Susanville should be very very proud of this group!!! 26 years of not making it to the title game is a LONG time! Hope we can have a large crowd supporting us at Chico St on sat. By the way a win on sat will mean a home state play-off game on tuesday night!
