LCC Softball Splits on the Road

Thursday, February 18th-Pleasant Hill, Ca.
The Lassen Cougar softball team opened a three day-six game road trip with doubleheader split at Diablo Valley College.

Lassen, (2-4) will continue their road trip, Friday, February 19th, with a pair of games at Chabot College, in Hayward, Ca.

Lady Cougars Open Softball Season on the Road

The Lassen College Lady Cougar softball team opened the 2010 season with a two day, four game road trip this past weekend, (2/12-13).

Lassen, (1-3) returns to the road February 18th-20th, for six games. The Lady Cougars will be at Diablo Valley College Thursday, Chabot College Friday and Contra Costa College Saturday.

Lassen College Softball Player Earns Scholarship

 

 

The Chinese Softball Foundation of Reno, announced today that standout Lassen College softball pitcher Chang Xiao Xue has received an athletic scholarship to attend Utah State University, a NCAA D1 college located in Logan, Utah, and has signed a letter of intent to become a Utah State Aggie.
Chang, from Beijing, China, was the youngest member of the Chinese National Softball Team before coming to the United States.
 

She plans to major in Human Resource Management, and to work towards a Masters Degree in Business upon graduation.“I made the decision to come to the United States three years ago” says Xiao Xue. “I wanted to get a degree because being an athlete in China, I only played softball and didn’t get much education. I love softball, but wanted an education, too.”

Lassen College to Host Softball Camp

The Lassen College softball program will be hosting a youth softball camp June 22nd-24th.
The camp is open to players age 5-13 and will be run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. each of the three days. Lassen College and Lassen High School players and coaches, will be providing instruction in a variety of areas, including; hitting, fielding, pitching, base-running and more. Games will be played each day of the camp as well.
Cost of the camp is just $50.00 and includes a T-shirt for all of the participants. For more information, contact Lassen College head coach Glen Yonan at (530) 251-8815.

Lady Cougars Close Out Softball Season

The Lassen College softball team wrapped up the 2009 season at home Wednesday (4/22) with a Golden Valley Conference doubleheader against Shasta College.

Former Lassen High standout Karma Rice allowed just one Lassen base runner. Chelsey Calvin collected Lassen’s lone hit.
Lassen finishes the GVC season at 5-15.

Lady Cougars Split With Butte

The Lassen College Lady Cougar softball team split a Golden Valley Conference doubleheader with the Butte College Roadrunners, Saturday, (4/18) at the Lassen College Softball Complex.

Lassen – 3
Butte – 0
WP=Xiao Xue Chang. Veronica Rothenhausler was 2 x 3 with two triples and an RBI. Heather Fisher was also 2 x 3.

“We just didn’t play well in the second game.” Said Lassen College head coach,Glen Yonan.

The Lady Cougars will close out the season with a doubleheader against the Shasta College Knights, Wednesday, April 22nd, at the Lassen College Softball Complex. The first game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

Lassen College Baseball & Softball Teams Struggle on the Coast

The Lassen College baseball and softball teams faced College of the Redwoods, Friday (4/17) in Eureka, Ca. and both teams could not get out of town soon enough. Actually, the baseball team had to stay for a third game, Saturday.

Lassen College Baseball & Softball Games Postponed

The Lassen College baseball and softball games scheduled to be played in Susanville, Ca. Wednesday, (4/08) have been postponed due to threatening weather.

The Cougar baseball team was scheduled to host Butte College at Memorial Park. That game has been rescheduled for Friday, April 10th at 2:00 p.m. The two teams will then play a doubleheader, Saturday, April 11th at Memorial Park.
The Lady Cougar softball team was set to host a Golden Valley Conference doubleheader against Shasta College at the Lassen College Softball Complex. No make-up date has been announced for the softball games.

Tough Weekend for Lady Cougars

The Lassen College Lady Cougar softball team was home for a pair of Golden Valley Conference doubleheaders over the weekend, (3/04 & 3/05) but could not come away with a victory.

had Lassen’s lone hit.

The score was tied 1-1 after seven innings but Lassen could not answer Siskiyous’ seven run, eighth inning outburst. Lassen’s Veronica Rothenhausler drove in one run. 

Sunday, (3/05) at the Lassen College Softball Complex

Feather River – 2
Lassen – 0
Lassen’s Chang Xiao Xue had a triple but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a home run.

Feather River – 5
Lassen – 1

Lassen is scheduled to play it’s final home games, Wednesday, April 8th, against Shasta College.

Lassen College Softball Games Moved to Sunday

The scheduled Golden Valley Conference doubleheader between the Lassen College Lady Cougars and Feather River College has been moved to Sunday, April 5th.
The two teams were originally scheduled to meet Friday, (4/03) at the Lassen College Softball Complex but the choice was made to move the games to Sunday to avoid potential foul weather. The GVC twin-bill will get underway at 12:00 p.m.
