For the second year in a row, Coaches John Westfall and Geoff Cook have guided the Lassen High JV baseball team to the Northern Athletic League title.
The Grizzlies had a league record of 9-1, (14-4 overall).
The team had a great season, scoring 92 runs, while allowing only 25 runs in league play. Lassen had a conference best 2.55 ERA with 126 strikeouts. The pitching staff had five shutouts on the year.
The team’s overall batting average was .354, with an on-base percentage of .434.

Richard Murphy drove in two runs and Steven White added an RBI to support winning pitcher, Jared Bertotti, who allowed just one earned run to earn the complete game victory.
Thursday’s Final
Central Valley – 14
Lassen – 8
Lassen jumped on top of the visiting Falcons, taking a 3-0 lead, but Central Valley scored nine runs to take a 9-3 lead. The Grizzlies threatened, scoring five runs in the sixth inning, but Central Valley answered with five runs of there own in the top of the seventh.
Derrick Dennis, Murphy and Bertotti each drove in a pair of runs for the Grizzlies.
Lassen (12-7, 3-3 NAL) is currently in fourth place in the NAL, a half game behind Central Valley (3-2), and two games back of Corning (5-1) and Yreka (5-1).
The Grizzlies will face first-place Corning, Tuesday, April 27th, in Corning.
