Lassen High Defeats PV In Flick-Off
The Lassen High field hockey team downed Pleasant Valley High School, Wednesday (10/21), in Chico. The Grizzlies won 5-4 in a “flick-off.”
Lassen’s Chelsea Fry scored the Grizzlies lone goal in regulation. Scoring flicks for Lassen were; Haylee Shaffer, Kaydeen Kimball, Becky McConnel and Ariel Ikesakes. Lassen is now 10-3 on the season with one game to play.
The junior varsity Grizzlies were were beaten 2-0 in two overtimes.
Lassen closes out the season, Monday, October 26th, at home against Davis High School.

Lassen High Field Hockey Rolls to 9-3 Record
The Lassen High School field hockey team traveled to Bella Vista High for a conference showdown, Monday (10/19), and brought home a pair of victories.
Varsity
Lassen – 5
Bella Vista – 0
Haylee Shaffer scored a pair of goals for Lassen,with Tyana Zinn, Paige Cornelison and Janie Garringer, each adding solo goals. Chelsea Fry assisted on three of Lassen’s five goals. Goalie Kaelie Pena and the Lassen defense pitched another shutout.
Lassen next travels to Pleasant Valley, Wednesday, October 21st. The Grizzlies final home game will take place, Monday, October 26th.
Junior Varsity
Lassen – 4
Bella Vista – 1
Tyleen Kimball tallied three goals to earn the hat trick and Lesandra Rodrigues accounted for the fourth Lassen score.

Lassen Field Hockey Exacts Revenge on Chico
After dropping a 7-3 decision to Chico High School earlier in the year, the Lassen High Grizzly field hockey team gained a measure of revenge with a shut out victory over the visiting Panthers, Wednesday, (10/14).
Lassen – 2
Chico – 0
Chelsea Fry scored Lassen’s first goal less than .30 seconds into the game. Haylee Shaffer would add Lassen’s second goal shortly before the end of the first half. Lassen goalie, Kaelie Pena’s, five saves would secure the shutout.
Lassen’s Molly West, was carried off the field by head coach Dorinda Shaffer in the first half after taking a severe blow to the right knee-cap, but would return to action in the second half.
That’s why we call them, ”Chix with Stix,” they’re tough…
Lassen improves to 8-3 on the season.

Lassen High Field Hockey Team Improves to 7-3
While Monday, (10/12) was a holiday for most of the student body, the Lassen High School field hockey team played the Yuba City Honkers at home.
Lassen – 1
Yuba – 0
Chelsea Fry scored the game’s lone goal with an assist from Tyana Zinn.
Lassen will be back home Wednesday, October 14th, for a game with the Chico High Panthers.
The junior varsity Grizzlies shut out Yuba 4-o.

Lassen Falls to Corning in High School Field Hockey

The Lassen Grizzly field hockey team was defeated by Corning High School in Corning, Wednesday, (10/7). Corning won in a “flick-off.”
Corning – 4
Lassen – 3
Haylee Shaffer, Kaydeen Kimball and Chelsea Fry each scored for Lassen.
Lassen will be back home, Monday, October 12th, to face Yuba City.
The junior varsity Grizzlies lost 6-0 to Corning.

LHS Field Hockey Blanks Davis to Earn 5th Victory
The Lassen High Grizzly field hockey team traveled to Davis, Wednesday (9/30) for a showdown with their long time nemesis. Lassen would come home victorious. Also read on to find out about a grudge “flick-off” that will take place at Lassen’s next home game.

Davis – 0
Chelsea Fry and Haylee Shaffer each scored goals for Lassen, with Tyana Zinn assisting on both. Kaelie Pena had eight saves in goal.
Lassen improves to 5-2 on the year. The Grizzlies next play, Monday, October 5th, when they host River Valley High School.
There will be a special “flick-off” challenge that will take place between the jv and varsity games, Monday. I will square off with Lassen head coach Dorinda Shaffer. If I lose, Hi-Lites Salon will be waxing my legs. (Coach Shaffer made fun of my “hairy” legs, so now I’ll show her).
The Lassen junior varsity Grizzlies were defeated by Davis.

The Lassen Grizzly field hockey team improved to 3-2 on the year with a win over Bella Vista High School, Wednesday, (9-23).

Lassen also won the junior varsity contest by a score of 2-1.
Lassen will next face Pleasant Valley High School, Monday, September 28th at home.
