Final Score
Lassen – 56

The home cookin’ did the Grizzlies well as they rebounded from a four point first quarter to outscore the visiting Cubs the rest of the way.
Said Lassen head coach Leo Bennett. “Nothing like playing, (and coaching) at home in front of a packed Pacific Street Gym.”
Andy Pustejovsky’s hot shooting and steady defense, led the way for Lassen. He finished with 20 points. JP Faulkner had a gutty outing, ending the night with 14 points, AND A BLOCKED SHOT!
Lassen earns it’s first NAL victory of the year, (1-2) while improving to 9-9 on the season.

Grizzlies And Lady Grizzlies Fall at West Valley

The Lassen High Grizzly and Lady Grizzly basketball teams fell to Northern Athletic League rival, West Valley, Friday, (1/23), in Cottonwood, Ca.
Information on the boy’s game submitted by Lassen head coach, Leo Bennett

Final Score
West Valley – 54
Lassen – 42
Torin Thompson
led Lassen with 14 points and also contributed 11 rebounds. Jordan Vial finished with nine points and eight rebounds. Jarred Bertotti also scored nine points and had nine rebounds.

West Valley’s full court press kept us at bay all evening. They did a good job face guarding JP Faulkner and sending two at him in the back court. Our own press was effective keeping us in the game with chances to cut into a constant six point lead that West Valley held throughout the game.
Our biggest concern is the 42 points we scored. I believe we have the tools to average into the high sixties.
Our free throw percentage over the last two games is just 40%, telling of the offensive slump that we must move away from. There is nothing like playing at home to right the ship and we have four home games coming.
I look forward to these next two weeks full of intense defense with silky smooth offense, so that we can finish off the first half of league  … Click the headline to continue reading this LSN Story
