Soccer Playoffs-Lassen Girls Advance to Finals, Boys Fall in Semi’s
The Lassen High School boys and girls soccer teams, each played North Section semi-final playoff matches, Tuesday, (2/23).
Girl’s Final (at Riverside Park)
Lassen – 3
Wheatland – 0
Amanda Keeton scored two goals, with Molly West adding Lassen’s third score. Autumn Norton assisted on two of Lassen’s three goals.
Lassen, (10-1-1) will host West Valley, (10-1-1) for the North Section championship, Saturday, February 27th. The title match is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. at Riverside Park.
This will be the third meeting of the year between the two teams. West Valley won 2-0 at home, with Lassen winning in a shoot-out at Riverside Park, Feb. 4th. (Even though it went in the books as a tie).
That shoot-out earned Lassen the #1 seed and home field advantage in the championship match.

Lassen – 1
Lassen was without two starters, including leading goal-scorer, Jordan Guess, due to inuries. The Grizzlies end the season at 6-6-1.
Lassen head coach Dennis Michael’s entire roster is eligible to return for the 2010-11 season.

Grizzlies Advance in North Section Soccer Playoffs
February 18th-Riverside Park
The Lassen High School boys soccer team rallied late to down the Anderson Cubs in first round action of the NSCIF Division I playoffs.

Lassen (6-5-1, #3 seed) next faces West Valley (7-4, #2), at West Valley, Tuesday, February 23rd.
The teams split their two regular season matches, each team winning 5-1 on it’s home pitch.
Lady Grizzlies
The Lassen Lady Grizzlies (9-1-1, #1) earned a first round bye as the playoff’s top seed and will host the winner of Thursday’s (2/18), Corning (#5) – Wheatland (#4) match. That match is also scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 23rd.

Lassen Boys Host Playoff Opener Today
The Lassen High boys soccer team will host Anderson High School in first round playoff action, Thursday, February 18th, at Riverside Park.
Lassen (5-5-1, #3 seed) has defeated Anderson (1-10, #6) twice this season, outscoring the Cubs 6-1 in the two matches. The winner of Thursday’s match will travel to West Valley, (7-4, #2) Tuesday, February 23rd, for second round action.
The Lassen Lady Grizzlies (9-1-1, #1) earned a first round bye as the number one seed and will host the winner of Thursday’s Corning (#5) – Wheatland (#4) match. That match is also scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 23rd.

Lassen High Soccer Ends Regular Season With Pair of Wins
The Lassen High School boys and girls soccer teams wrapped up the regular season with a pair of wins over Central Valley, Thursday, (2/11) at Riverside Park in Susanville.
Girls Final
Lassen – 6
Central Valley – 0
Lassen’s Amanda Keeton and Autumn Norton each scored two goals.
Nikki Russ and Cassandra Turner also scored goals for the Lassen ladies.
Lassen finishes the regular season 9-1-1, 8-1-1 in the Northern Athletic League and now await the playoff seedings.

Central Valley – 1
The young Grizzlies wrap up the regular season 5-5-1, (5-4-1). The Lassen boys also await their playoff positioning.
The playoff seeding committee will meet, Saturday, February 13th.

The Lassen High boys and girls soccer teams traveled to Anderson for Northern Athletic League action, Tuesday, (2/09) and came home with a pair of victories.

Lassen’s Jordan Guess scored both goals.
Lassen will wrap up the regular season, Thursday, February 11th, against Central Valley. Both matches will be played at Riverside Park in Susanville.

Lassen High Soccer Teams Earn a Win and a Tie/Win (Updated)
Girls Final

West Valley – 2
Autumn Norton and Greta Porfiri each scored goals for Lassen.

Lassen was up the entire game until the last second when West Valley scored the tying goal. The girls then went into penalty kicks and won 3-1.

Gals Win, Guys Don’t in Lassen High Soccer
The Lassen High girls and boys soccer teams traveled to Corning (2/02) for a pair of Northern Athletic League matches with the home town Cardinals.
Girls Final Score
Lassen – 1
Corning – 0
Destiny Harris scored the matches lone goal, with assists from Autumn Norton and Nievy Orosco.
Lassen, 7-1, (6-1 NAL) is tied atop the league standings with West Valley High School, 7-1, (6-1).
West Valley handed Lassen it’s lone loss of the season, 2-0 on January 14th. The two teams will square off at Riverside Park, Thursday, February 4th.
This match could very well determine the NAL championship and the top seed heading into the playoffs.

Not a whole lot to say.
Lassen falls to 2-5-2, (2-4-1 NAL). The young Grizzlies are not of the playoff race, but they need to get some wins in these final three matches to advance.
Lassen will also host West Valley at Riverside Park, Thursday, February 4th.

Lassen High Soccer Sweeps Anderson
The Lassen High boys and girls soccer teams split a pair of Northern Athletic League matches with Anderson High on the muddy pitch at Riverside Park, Tuesday, (1/26).
Boys Final
Lassen – 4
Anderson – 1
Said Lassen head coach Dennis Michaels following his teams second straight win. “It’s a win, we just out-muddied them.” Michaels added, “I think on a good field, with all things being equal, we’re still better than them.”
Lassen improves to 2-3 at the half-way point of the NAL season, 2-4 overall.

The win improves Lassen to 5-1, (4-1 NAL).
Both teams will be back at Riverside Park, Friday, January 29th, to host the Yreka Miners. Match times are 3:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

Lassen High Picks Up Pair of Soccer Wins
The Lassen High School boys and girls soccer teams earned Northern Athletic League wins at Central Valley, Friday, (1/22).
Boys Final

Lassen High Soccer Postponed (Updated)
Thursday’s, (1/21), scheduled soccer matches between Lassen High and Central Valley have been postponed due to inclement weather and travel conditions. The matches are now scheduled to be played, Friday, January 22nd, at Central Valley.
Lassen returns home to play Anderson High School, Tuesday, January 26th, at Riverside Park. The boys, 0-4, (0-3 NAL), begin at 3:15 p.m. The Lassen girls, 3-1, (2-1), match will follow at 5:15 p.m.
The Lassen-Anderson matches were originally scheduled to be played, Tuesday, (1/19), but were also postponed due to unsafe weather conditions.
