Lassen High Softball Falters in NAL Return

The Lassen High Lady Grizzlies played their first Northern Athletic League softball game in nearly three weeks, Monday, (4/19) at Anderson High School.
Final Score
Anderson – 9
Lassen – 6
Anderson, aided by six Lassen errors, scored seven runs in the game’s final two innings to earn the come from behind win.
Lassen’s Kelli Williams was two for three with two RBI. Natalie Yonan had a pair of hits and a run driven in, with Haylee Shaffer and Amanda Lynn, each driving in runs for the Lady Grizzlies. 
Lassen, (13-8, 1-1 NAL) will look to rebound, Tuesday, April 20th, at home against Central Valley.

Lassen – 12
Anderson – 1
Megan Novosad
pitched a gem, allowing just one hit while striking out ten Cub batters. Laken Cagle had a pair of doubles and two RBI. Laci Forester drove in two runs, while Jacqui Smith collected two hits and an RBI.
The Lassen junior varsity is also scheduled to host Central Valley High School, Tuesday, (4/20) at Riverside Park.

Lassen High Baseball & Softball Games Postponed

The Lassen High School baseball and softball team’s scheduled return to Northern Athletic League play, Tuesday, (4/13), has been postponed due to inclement weather. 
Both Grizzly squads were scheduled to travel to Anderson High School for conference games. The games have been rescheduled for Monday, April 19th, at Anderson.  
The Lassen High baseball, (9-5, 1-1 NAL) team has won four games in a row, while the Lady Grizzly softballers are 11-7, (1-0 NAL).

Grizzlies Cap Tournament with Win

The Lassen High School baseball team wrapped up play in the Central Valley tournament with their fourth straight victory.

Lassen (9-5, 1-1 NAL) is scheduled to return to Northern Athletic League play, Tuesday, April 13th, with a home game against Anderson High School.

LHS Baseball Team Wins Two on Day Two of Central Valley Tournament

The Lassen High Grizzly baseball team jumped to three games above .500 for the first time this season, with a pair of wins on the second day of the Central Valley Tournament (4/08).
Game One
Lassen – 6
Fall River – 4
CJ Houghland
picked up the win.
Game Two
Lassen – 3
Sutter – 2
Lassen scored two runs with two outs in the top of the seventh inning to overcome a 2-1 deficit. The pitching of senior, Brian Barnes made the Grizzly’s three runs hold up to earn the win.
Lassen (8-5) will continue tournament play, Friday, April 9th, at 2:00 p.m.
The Grizzlies return home, Tuesday, April 13th, for an Northern Athletic League showdown with Anderson High School.

Lassen High Softballers Weather Storm for 3-1 Weekend

The Lassen High School softball team rallied through a rain- shortened Friday, (4/02), to complete a 3-1 weekend in tournament play at Lindhurst High School.
Friday’s Final
Lassen – 3
Sutter – 1
Taylor Waddell
was 2 for 3 with an RBI, helping Ashley Novosad (and Lassen), earn the win.
Due to rain, tournament play was suspended until Saturday, (4/03).
Saturday’s Finals
Marysville – 2
Lassen – 0
Report to Lassen Sports Network.com- “Not much to report on this one.”

Amanda Lynn
led the Lassen offense with a three for three, one RBI performance. Lassen’s, Becky McConnel was two for three with a run driven in, while Lassen’s leading hitter, Natalie Yonan, was two for four. Molly West contributed a “key double,” according to Lassen head coach Paul Moore.

Lindhurst – 4
Amanda Lynn was three for four, Ashley Novosad, two for two.

Lassen heads into spring break with an 11-7 record, (1-0 in the Northern Athletic League).
The Lassen ladies are scheduled to return to action, Tuesday, April 13th, at Anderson High School, for an NAL showdown with the Cubs.

Grizzlies Outscore West Valley for First Conference Win

The Lassen High Grizzly baseball team bounced back from a Northern Athletic League loss and a rain-out to defeat West Valley, Thursday (4/01), at West Valley.
Final Score
Lassen – 12
West Valley – 9
Alex Cullison
earned the win as Lassen (5-4, 1-1 NAL) picked up it’s first conference win of the season.
In Lassen’s five wins, they have scored over ten runs. In the Grizzlies four losses, the team has averaged 1.5 runs per game.
Lassen’s conference game against Corning, scheduled to be played, Tuesday (3/30) at Memorial Park, was postponed due to inclement weather.

A First for LHS Softballers

The Lassen High School softball team traveled to Cottonwood, Ca. (4/01) for their Northern Athletic League opener with arch rival West Valley. At the end of the day, the Lassen ladies had accomplished something they had been unable to do in years past.

Yonan was 2 for 4 with Haylee Shaffer contributing a pair of RBI. Ashley Novosad picked up the win.
